The Grind

Those of you familiar with playing daily MLB fantasy leagues know what a grind it can be.

Since the time period for these leagues is so short, the importance of scoring is magnified.

It's absolutely critical that one is constantly checking weather, lineups and injuries. The last thing you want is an empty hole in your lineup because the manager decided to give someone a day off for the first time in two months.

Wednesday's lineups were littered with vacancies as a handful of star hitters were given the day off.
  • Ryan Braun, in the middle of a 6-for-42 slump, sat today in the last of a three-game set at Coors Field against the Rockies.
  • Albert Pujols sat, but not because of a cold bat. Angels skipper Mike Scioscia indicated Pujols needed a day off to "recharge" his legs.
  • Robinson Cano missed his first game of 2012 with a stiff neck. He should be ready to go Thursday, but isn't 100% certain about it.

Some fantasy players pencil these guys in every day without thinking. It's an absolute must that you remain diligent and always double-check every slot on your roster.
